Rabbi Yaakov Gold

Born in Sydney Australia, Harav Yaakov Gold spent his younger years living in Brooklyn NY. After his bar mitzva he left for Eretz Yisrael to study there in Yeshivas Gur. After his marriage he lived in Ashdod and then Bnei Brak. There he was accepted in Kollel Bais Yisroel which is under the direct tutelage of the Gerrer Rebbe zt"l. He studied there with Hagoan Rav Mendel Shafran Shlit"a, one of the top dayanim in Eretz Yisrael from whom he received in the year 5749 semicha in Dayanus. Then he was accepted to HaRav Shafran's beis din acting as a participating dayan. Later he was also serving as an arbitrator in monetary disputes. For the last 18 years Harav Gold has been the Rosh Kollel in Beis Medresh Zichron Gedalia for those learning dayanus. There he has taught many the profession of dayanus and many have gone on to become dayanim and teachers. Rav Gold also served as an editor of Encyclopedia Talmudis and is on the editorial staff of Morasha L'hanchil that publishes the Choshen Mishpat and Even Haezer sections of the Mahaduras Friedman Shulchan Aruch.
