The Chachamim instituted that a creditor who wishes to collect a loan from
the heirs of the deceased debtor must take an oath attesting to the fact
that he has not as yet collected the debt. The Tana'im argue as to whether
this oath applies in all cases or only when the Yesomim are minors (Kesuvos
93b, see RASHI there).
