Beitzah 32

BEITZAH 32 (13 Tamuz) has been dedicated in memory of Rebbetzin Chiena Kossowsky A"H by the Shulman and Kossowsky families.

1) [line 7] DERECH TASHMISHAN - for their normal usage
2) [line 11] MASIKIN - it is permitted to burn (i.e. use as fuel)
3) [line 16] EIN POCHASIN ES HA'NER - it is forbidden to form (hollow out) an earthenware lamp from a of lump of clay

4) [line 18] PECHAMIN - coals

5) [line 22] MI'SHE'NIGMERAH MELACHTO (L'KABEL TUM'AH)

If the artisan only *decided* that the utensil needs no more work, it is considered complete and may become Tamei. If the artisan decides to do more work on the utensil, it remains Tamei until an action is performed on the utensil that makes his intention clear.
(b) Rebbi Meir and Rebbi (Yehoshua) [Yehudah] argue as to whether a finished earthenware utensil needs to be baked in order to be considered complete.

A Zav (see Background to Shabbos 83:2a), Zavah (see Background to Shabbos 83:2b), Nidah (see Background to Shabbos 82:30a) or Yoledes, can cause Tum'ah through Heset, when they move (or outweigh on a balance scale) a person or object that is Tahor. In all other types of Tum'ah besides Zav, Zavah, Nidah and Yoledes, the Tamei who moves a person or object that is Tahor does *not* Metamei the person or object.
