1)
(a) What do we deduce from the Lashon of our Mishnah 'Rebbi Yehudah Poter
be'Mayim'?
(b) How do we reconcile this with the fact that, in another Beraisa, Rebbi
Yehudah specifically writes that both the water *and the salt* are Bateil in
the dough?
(c) And how will we reconcile this second Beraisa, which quotes Rebbi
Yehudah as saying that the water and the salt are Bateil both in a dough
*and in a cooked dish*, with a third Beraisa, where he says that they are
*not Bateil in a cooked dish* because of the liquid?
2)
(a) A coal may go as far as its owner. What does the Tana mean when he
says 've'ha'Shalheves be'Chol Makom'?
(b) Is one Mo'el for using ...
- ... a coal belonging to Hekdesh?
- ... a flame belonging to Hekdesh?
(c) What is the difference between ...
- ... carrying out a coal into the street on Shabbos, and carrying out a flame?
- ... a coal of Avodah-Zarah and a flame?
(d) What is the difference between a flame of Hekdesh and a flame of Avodah-
Zarah? Why is that?
3)
(a) In which fifth area of Halachah is there a difference between a coal and
a flame?
(b) We just learned that one is Patur for carrying out a flame. Rav Sheshes
establishes the Beraisa which says that he is Chayav when he carried out the
flame on a splinter of wood. Why is he not Chayav for carrying out the
splinter? What is the smallest piece of wood for which one would be Chayav
for carrying out on Shabbos?
(c) Abaye establishes the Beraisa when he rubbed a vessel with oil and
carried out the flame on that. Why is he not Chayav for carrying out the
vessel? What is the smallest piece of clay for which one would be Chayav for
carrying out on Shabbos (according to Rebbi Yehudah)?
(d) Seeing as one is Chayav in all of the above cases, when is one Patur for
carrying out a flame?
4)
(a) What is the Techum of water that is drawn ...
- ... from a private well?
- ... from a well that belongs to the city?
- ... from a well of Olei Bavel?
(b) In which point does the Tana of our Mishnah disagree with Rebbi Yochanan
ben Nuri (who holds 'Cheftzei Hefker Kinin Shevisah', as we saw on the
previous Amud)?
(c) Why does the Seifa of our Mishnah say 'ke'Raglei ha'Memalei', and not
ke'Raglei Kol Adam'?
5)
(a) What is the Techum of flowing water?
(b) How will we reconcile this with the Reisha of our Mishnah, which rules
that water from a private well follows it owner?
6)
(a) What is the Techum of water that one person fills for himself from a
public well and then gives to someone else?
(b) According to Rav Nachman, if someone draws water from a public well on
behalf of his friend, the water follows the Techum of the person on whose
behalf it was drawn. What does Rav Sheshes say?
(c) How do we initially explain their Machlokes?

7)
(a) What will be the Halachah if one man says to another ...
- ... 'Hareini Alecha Cherem'?
- ... 'Harei Ata Alai Cherem'?
(b) If he were to say 'Hareini Alecha ve'Ata Alai (Cherem)' then each one is
forbidden to benefit from the other. Are they permitted to benefit from
things that belong to ...
- ... the Olei Bavel? What does that comprise?
- ... the town in which they live? What does this comprise?
8)
(a) What is the Kashya from the above Beraisa on Rav Nachman?
(b) How do we answer this Kashya by making a distinction between two kinds
of usage)?
(c) What principle (which we are about to prove that Rav Nachman holds)
forces us to retract from the current interpretation of the Machlokes?
9)
(a) When giving one's half-Shekel, everyone had to give a Kalbon. What is
a Kalbon?
(b) How many Kalbonos did two partners have to give if they gave a full
Shekel between them?
(c) Which kind of partners gave only *one* Kalbon? What is 'Tefusas
ha'Bayis'?
(d) As far as Ma'aser Beheimah is concerned this distinction between the two
kinds of partners works in reverse. What does this mean?
10)
(a) According to Rav Anan, how will the above Din differ if the two brothers
divided any one species between them (e.g. sheep against sheep, or goats
against goats).
(b) Rav Nachman disagrees. What does *he* say?
(c) The fact that Rav Nachman clearly holds 'Ein Bereirah' forces us to
learn that, even *he* holds that the wells of Olei Bavel are Hefker. In
that case, how will we explain the basis of the Machlokes between him and
Rav Sheshes?
(d) Is it possible to accept the text 'Rav Nachman Savar Kanah Chaveiro',
ve'Rav Sheshes Savar Lo Kanah Chaveiro'?
11)
Under which circumstances, are the people of a certain town (who made an
Eiruv to enable them to walk to another town that was outside the Techum)
...
- ... permitted to take with them fruit that belongs to a member of the town to which they are going?
- ... permitted to carry back with them food from their host?
