A ten-Tefach-high mound in Reshus ha'Rabim that is 4 by 4 Tefachim wide at its top is also a Reshus ha'Yachid, since the vertical sides of the mound are considered to be like partitions.

(a) The Torah requires Mechitzos (partitions) for various Halachos (e.g. for Reshus ha'Yachid of Shabbos and Sukah). A Mechitzah must be ten Tefachim high and enclose an area of four by four Tefachim.
(b) Gud Asik, lit. stretch and pull up the Mechitzah (located in the house below), is a Halachic device by which Mechitzos are considered to extend upward indefinitely, if they are ten Tefachim tall.

*11*) [line 5] MI'SHMEI D'RAV AMRU - it was *said* in the name of Rav. (That is, this is not a quote from a Beraisa, but from Rav himself. The Gemara then cites what those who learned by Shmuel *learned* [Tanu], i.e. in a Beraisa. Rav must explain the Beraisa of Shmuel to conform to his opinion; Shmuel, though, does not have to relate to what was cited from Rav since it was not a Beraisa.)

(Actually, even without building a Dakah, the one who built the Aliyah on his house prohibits the others. However, the Gemara wanted to find a case where the person with the Aliyah may even carry onto the *other* roofs.)
