FOOTNOTES:
==========
(1) Chizkiyah and Rebbi Yochanan argue whether "Mematchin" in our Mishnah, which Rebbi Yosi permits, means weaving the Shesi cords (warp) without the Erev cords (woof), or if it means just tightening cords that became loose (and weaving the Shesi alone would be Asur on Chol ha'Mo'ed, like "Mesargin").
(2) "Mesargin" means interlacing both the Shesi and Erev cords, as the Gemara proves from the Mishnah in Kelim which mentions making "Batim" (i.e. Shesi and Erev) and calls it "Sirug."
(3) The Yesh Omrim holds that "Mematchin" may not be done on Chol ha'Mo'ed. Therefore, according to the opinion (see footnote #1) that says that "Mematchin" means to tighten cords that became loose, the Yesh Omrim prohibits doing even that. According to the opinion that "Mematchin" means weaving the Shesi cord, the Yesh Omrim holds that just tightening cords that became loose is Mutar, for it is not considered "Mematchin."
