prepared by Rabbi Eliezer Chrysler

Nidah 40

1)

(a) In which two areas is a Yotze Dofen not considered 'born'?

(b) What is the basic difference between the coming into effect of the Tum'ah of a Nidah and that of a Zav and a Ba'al Keri?

(c) What should a Kohen do, if he is eating Terumah and he suddenly feels an emission coming on?

2)
(a) What is the Rabbanan's source for exempting a Yotzei Dofen from the days of Tum'as Leidah?
Rebbi Shimon learns from "Teiled", that even a woman who bears a Yotze Dofen is Temei'ah Leidah.
(b) What does he do with the Pasuk "Ishah Ki Sazri'a ve'Yalda"?
The Rabbanan learn from "Teiled" that a woman who bears a Tumtum and an Androginus is also Metamei Leidah.
(c) Why should we require a Pasuk to include them?
Rebbi Shimon includes a Tumtum and an Androginus from "*le'Ven* O *le'Vas*".
(d) What do the Rabbanan learn from there?
3)
(a) Why is a Pasuk not required, to inform us that a Yoledes be'Zov cannot bring just one Korban for both her Tum'as Leidah and her Zivus?
From "Toras ha'Olah" we learn that a woman may bring one Korban for many births, and from "Zos", that she must bring a Korban for each birth.
(b) What is the meaning of this paradox?

(c) Seeing as we have the Pasuk of "ve'Zos", why do the Rabbanan still need "le'Ven O le'Vas" to teach us that she is obligated to bring an individual Korban for each birth?

4) Rebbi Shimon agrees that a Yotze Dofen is not considered a regular birth by Kodshim.
(a) What are the ramifications of this statement?

(b) From where does he derive it?

There are many reasons to learn a Gezeirah Shavah ("Leidah" "Leidah") from Adam that a Yotze Dofen is a birth.
(c) Why briefly, does he choose to learn it from a Gezeirah Shavah ("Imo" Imo") from Bechor that it is not?

5) We learn from "Al Mokdah" that Kodshim Pesulim that were inadvertently brought up onto the Mizbei'ach, may remain.
According to Rebbi Yehudah, "*Zos* Toras ha'Olah *Hi* "ha'Olah*" comes to preclude three cases of Kodshim Pesulim from remaining on the Mizbei'ach.

(a) What are they?
A long list of Kodshim which, according to Rebbi Shimon, remain on the Mizbei'ach, includes 'Lan' and 'Yotzei'.
(b) What are 'Lan' and 'Yotzei'?

(c) What does Rebbi Yehudah hold by 'Lan' and 'Yotzei', and by the other cases of Rebbi Shimon (except for the three mentioned above)?

6)
(a) Why does Rebbi Shimon include a case where Pesulim received or sprinkled the blood, and not where Pesulim Shechted the Korban - What does Pesulim mean?

(b) What is meant by 'ha'Nitnin Lema'alah she'Nasnan Lematah'?

(c) And what is meant by 'ha'Nitnin Bifenim she'Nasnan Bachutz'?

Rebbi Shimon also lists 'ha'Pesach ve'ha'Chatas she'Shachtan she'Lo Lishman'.
(d) Why specifically Pesach and Chatas?
7)
(a) What is the difference between a Muktzeh and a Ne'evad?
Among those Kodshim animals that must come down are Esnan and Mechir, Kil'ayim, Tereifah and Yotzei Dofen.
(b) How does Rebbi Shimon derive the two lists from the one Pasuk "Zos Toras ha'Olah", and how does he categorize his two lists?
8) What are we attempting to prove from this Beraisa, and on what basis does the Gemara reject the proof?
