Pesachim 32

***************GIRSA SECTION********************
We recommend using the textual changes suggested by the Bach, Rav B. Rensburg and the parenthetical marginal notes of the Vilna Shas. This section is devoted to any *OTHER* changes that we feel ought to be made in Gemara, Rashi or Tosfos.)

[1] Gemara 32a [line 17, 18]:
The word "Zevinei" should be written without a "Heh" at the end (BECHOR SHOR)

[2] Rashi 32a DH Kol Heicha deme'Ikara:
The words "Mihu Mamona d'Chohen *[Ochel]* Mamona Hu"
should be "Mihu Mamona d'Chohen *d'Achal* Mamona Hu" (Dikdukei Sofrim #1)
************************************************

1) [line 2] V'CHUMSHA D'CHUMSHA - [and if afterwards he unintentionally eats the "fifth" which he gave as a fine,] he pays an additional fifth of that fifth

2) [line 10] GERIVA - a Se'ah
3) [line 17] D'LO KAFITZ ALEI ZEVINEI - [a product] that buyers do not jump at the opportunity to buy

4) [line 31] TUSIM - berries
5) [last line] MERITZAH LIFNEI CHALBO - he throws it to his dog

32b---------------------------------------32b

6) [line 43] MISAH (KARES AND MISAH B'YEDEI SHAMAYIM)
(a) A non-Kohen who eats or benefits from Terumah b'Mezid (intentionally) pays the value of the object destroyed (i.e., the normal Halachah of damages applies to him, and not Tashlumei Terumah -- see above, Background to 31:16), and incurs the punishment of Misah b'Yedei Shamayim.
(b) If someone benefited from Hekdesh intentionally, he must pay to Hekdesh the amount that he benefited. He receives Malkos according to the Chachamim. According to Rebbi, he also incurs the punishment of Misah b'Yedei Shamayim.
(c) The Tif'eres Yisrael to Sanhedrin 9:6 lists three differences between Misah b'Yedei Shamayim and Kares:

  KARES MISAH B'YEDEI SHAMAYIM
1) death before age 60 (or,
according to the Yerushalmi
Bikurim 2, before age 50)
death after age 60
2) children alive at the time
of the transgression may die
(according to Riva, only
for those sins where the
Torah states the word
children do not die because
the transgression (according
to some, the sinner's cattle
will expire until he is left
destitute -- see Insights)
3) there is a form where the
soul is also cut off from
the Jewish people
the soul is left untouched

7) [line 49] TANU'ACH DA'ATCHA - may your mind be at ease, at rest
8) [last line] SHADU BEI NARGA - swung an ax at it, i.e. disproved it
