Pesachim 82

PESACHIM 82 - dedicated in honor of the Bar-Mitzvah (in Yerushalayim) of Yosef Tavin, by his family. May he continue to grow "from strength to strength" in Torah and the fear of Hashem, and bring true Nachas to his family.

***************GIRSA SECTION********************
We recommend using the textual changes suggested by the Bach, Rav B. Rensburg and the parenthetical marginal notes of the Vilna Shas. This section is devoted to any *OTHER* changes that we feel ought to be made in Gemara, Rashi or Tosfos.)

[1] Tosfos 82a DH ba'Kodesh Hayesah:
The words "me'Achol *Tochlenu* Osah ba'Kodesh"
should be "me'Achol *Tochlu* Osah ba'Kodesh"

[2] Gemara 82b [line 6]:
"(v'Chol) ba'Kodesh ba'Esh Tisaref"
The word "v'Chol" is part of the Gemara and should not be enclosed is
parentheses (Be'er Sheva).

[3] Gemara 82b [line 8]:
The words "Pesulo ba'Kodesh"
should be "Pesulei d'Kodesh" (RASHASH; this is also the Girsa in the manuscripts.) ************************************************

1) [line 2] ACHSENA'I - a lodger (traveler)
b) [line 3] BA'AL HA'BAYIS - a person who lives here [in Yerushalayim]
3) [line 13] PAISHAN - there will be left over
4) [line 17] KANEI (V'CHARYUSA) V'CHERVASA - reeds and palm branches
5) [line 22] MEFANKEI - delicate people (who are wealthy) who do not work
6) [line 22] D'KA GADIL SHISHURA - a person who makes (braids) rope

7) [line 23] SHE'YATZA (YOTZEI)
(a) The parts of the Korbanos that are eaten become Yotzei and are rendered unfit to be eaten if they leave their set boundaries (such as the Azarah for Kodshei Kodshim or Yerushalayim for Kodshim Kalim). Korbanos that were removed from the boundaries of the Azarah after they were slaughtered but before they were offered are also called Yotzei, and are forbidden to be offered on the Mizbe'ach.
(b) The Torah requires that all Yotzei be burned, as is learned from a Halachah l'Moshe mi'Sinai (Pesachim 82b -- however the Rambam (Pesulei ha'Mukdashin 19:1) cites a verse in Vayikra (7:17) as the source for this Halachah)

8a) [line 37] KODSHIM KALIM/KODSHEI KODASHIM
(a) The term Kodshim Kalim refers to the Korbenos Shelamim, Todah, Ma'aser Behemah, Pesach and Bechor. They may be slaughtered in the entire Azarah (and not only in its northern part) and may be eaten in the entire city of Yerushalayim by men or women.
(b) The term Kodshei Kodashim refers to the Korbenos Olah, Chatas and Asham (and Menachos). They may only be slaughtered in the northern part of the Azarah and may only be eaten in the Azarah by Kohanim.

9) [last line] LAN DAMAH
Blood of a slaughtered Korban that was not cast on the Mizbe'ach before sunset may no longer be cast on the Mizbe'ach, and its Korban is disqualified.

82b---------------------------------------82b

10) [line 1] CHUTZ LA'KELA'IM - out of the Azarah (which corresponded to the *curtains* of the Mishkan)

11) [line 3] "[V'CHOL CHATAS ASHER YUVA MI'DAMAH EL OHEL MO'ED L'CHAPER] BA'KODESH [LO SE'ACHEL]; BA'ESH TISAREF" - "[Any sin offering whose blood is brought into the Ohel Mo'ed to make atonement] in the sanctuary [may not be eaten]; it must be burned in fire." (Vayikra 6:23)

12) [line 15] HORA'AS SHA'AH HAYESAH - it was a special law which applied only at that specific time
