Learning Hebrew
| The Shema Yisrael Torah Network will be
offering an 8 week on line course on how to learn HEBREW. There will be 16 classes (2
classes per week). The classes will be seen and heard on line. Prior to the Lecture one
will receive a complete written lesson via e-mail. Following a 45 minute presentation
there will be a question and answer period. One will be able to see the author and ask him
questions which everyone can hear. For those who are unfamiliar with the hebrew alef-bet and their vowel accompaniment, just click here. We are privileged to have R' Shalom Gold who lives in the OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM as our lecturer. R' Gold is the author of the Dik Duk Buk. The book was designed for people like R' Shalom, who couldn't read, write or speak Hebrew. R' Shalom has been teaching his class for over 10 years and has had students from around the world come specificially to learn his program and then come back for a refresher course. The program is now in progress and one may join at any time. The new cycle will be starting June 4. Whoever misses a session will be able to make up the lesson at another time via recording. Copies of English and Hebrew of the 6 sources will be provided with the appropriate lessons. Also included will be a Glossary of Grammatical terminology. The prerequisite to benefit in a greater measure from the course is a knowledge of the name and sound of the Hebrew letters and the sounds of the vowel. Even without that knowledge much will be gained. One can repeat the program and review the lectures (which will be available in an archives) as much as they want.
