The Pirchei Shoshanim College Recommended Program provides meaningful learning opportunities for individuals who are seeking to develop and expand their knowledge of, and commitment to, Jewish law. The program is designed to provide structure and a sense of accomplishment in the study of Jewish law, offering comprehensive courses on extensive topics. Participants study at their own pace, under the mentoring of qualified Instructors/Rabbis.
The subject areas to be reviewed are all within the category of Jewish Law (Halacha). The courses offered are all based on the widely accepted code of Jewish Law – known as the Shulchan Aruch, and its commentaries. The program offers a variety of courses in different subjects from the four sub-divisions of the Shulchan Aruch.
YPS College Program specifically allows those who have a limited background in Jewish law to participate in the true depth and breadth of the Torah. The project is written in English and Hebrew as well as certain programs include a French, Spanish and Russian translation.
Students are responsible for meeting all prerequisites, as detailed in each course syllabus and in the Academic Policies. The registrar’s office is responsible to confirm that course prerequisites are met prior to registration.
YPS College Program staff will be available to guide you and help you choose the courses that best fit your goals.
