Ahavas Chesed - Love of Chesed
What does Hashem your G-d demand of you, that you love
chessed, and walk humbly with Hashem your G-d.
In a nearby building in your very own neighborhood, Jews call out for help. The Ahavas
Chesed organization learns of their situation, and comes to their aid.
Ahavas Chesed, an organization whose purpose is to ease the plight of impoverished
families, orphans and widows, was founded six years ago in memory of a young girl named Yente Chaya Sarah Zieglman, o"h. When Chaya Sarah noticed the
distress which prevailed in a number of families, who on the surface seemed financially
stable, she organized collections of food products which she then distributed to them in a
most discreet manner. Sadly, Chaya Sarah was killed in a tragic car accident, and did not
merit to see the organization at it's peak. May its activities benefit her soul.
With absolutely no means, but with endless love, the organization set out on its way.
Currently, commodities are collected by hundreds of schoolgirls throughout the country, on
a volunterr basis. After the commodities have been sorted, the members of the organization
supplement them with basic food products such as flour, sugar, oil, poultry and fish. Then
they distribute them to the needy on their list, bringing light and joy to hundreds of
families. The identity of the recipients remain seccret, even to the volunteers, and the
packages are distributed in a discerning manner. Discreetly, cartons laden with the finest
food products are delivered to the homes of the recipients by the employees of various
local groceries and supermarkets.
The members of the organization rabbinical committee, who have set its criteria, select the
recipients, and ascertain the forms of aid they require.
With outstanding dedication, and with the help of the organization's most generous
benefactors, Ahavas Chesed supports hundreds of destitute families and people in
unfortunate situations who, before Ahavas Chessed stepped in, were literally on the verge
of starvation.
With your help, we will be able to continue to bring the light of Shabbos and the joy of
Yom Tov to dark corners, for "the poor are not forgotten from the heart."
Yes! I would like to make a donation.
