Parsha What does Hashem Elokecha ask from you, but to fear Hashem Elokecha and to walk in His ways. (Devorim, Perek Yud, Pasuk Yud Gimmel)

Parshas Lech Lecha

"Anochi Magen Lach" (Berashis Perek Tes Vov, Pasuk Alef). After Avram successfully battles the five kings, Rashi tells us that he was afraid that this great miracle was reward for his good deeds and that he would receive no other. Hashem came to him and told him "Al Tirah", do not be afraid, because I am with you and will be your shield and your reward will be great. The word for shield is Magen (mem, gimmel, nun), which we can say is Roshei Teivos for the words, Mamon (money), Guf (body or physical) and Nefesh (soul). From this we can understand that when Avodos Hashem is the focus of our money, our physical being and our souls then our reward will be great.
