MIKETZ

"...............so he (PHARAOH) sent and called upon all the magicians and wise men of Egypt.............(41:8)

Pharaoh had 2 dreams and was anxious about their meaning, he thus called upon all the "educated" men of Egypt for an explanation. But none could suppy him with a satisfactory answer.............All these wise men and magicians were the elite of Egypt with crudentials and masters of their crafts........ However, all Joseph was as the Chamberlain of Cupbearers refered to him as youthfull,Hebrew, and a slave (41;12)...Not very impressive to say the least, yet Joseph was able to interpret the dreams..............so

What was Josephs Craft?

In verse 41:16 , Joseph said ,"It is not me (who can interpret dreams); it is G-d who will respond concerning Pharaoh".... Joseph had in essence learned a very important craft from his holy and great forebearers (Abraham, Issac and Jacob), namely Emunah (Faith in G-d)..............This "Craft "was able to surpassed the most sophisticated and elite royal wise men of Egypt......Only in the house of Abraham can the true craft of fully believeing in G-d be learned and actualized as demonstrated by Joseph for all the world to see...........Through Joseph in reality the whole world was saved from a most devastating famine.......In Avoth6:6 it states the following: "Whoever reports a saying in the name of its originator brings deliverance to the world"........This is exactly was Joseph did, and thus through him the world was saved from starvation........When Joseph declared before Pharoah that he is only a conduit for Devine knowledge,he was in actuality only reporting the true originator of the dreams interpretation as none other than G-d Almighty, thus bringing salvation to the world as stated in Avoth 6:6......This was precisely the difference between Joseph and the wise men of Egypt, and why Joseph was thus able to interpret the dreams properly....................Let us all develope the "craft" of Emunah (faith) and show the world what true salvation is....................................................Have a good Shabbos
