Shabbos Course Outline

The following is the tentative schedule of the Shulchan Aruch Project on Shabbos culminating with a Semicha ceremony in Jerusalem for family and friends fot those participating in level three of the Project.

Please note: The Shabbos Shulchan Aruch course is extended over quite a long period, 2 years,  due to the vast amount of material it covers.

Semester Schedule

The following is a list of shiurim that will be given out on laws of Shabbos. They will disseminate on Motzei Shabboses and Tuesdays from Israel. Periodically quizzes will be given. Questions are accepted at all times.

Compulsory

1. Gemora Shabbos.

2. Tur Orach Chaim Hilchos Shabbos.

3. Shulchan Oruch. {The new Tur with Shulchan Oruch Hilchos Shabbos is now available in 2 volumes by Machon Yershalaim}.

4. Rambam, Volume Z'manim

5. Mishna B'rura. Pref. The Feldheim edition with English. If one doesn't require English but Hebrew is a bit of a problem, there is a beautiful M"B with nikkud.

6. Shmiras Shabbos K'hilchasa. There is an English edition, but it lacks the footnotes.

Non compulsory

1. Mishnayos "Pnai Shabbos" with pictures. Available in English.

2. Access to Iggros Moshe, By Ha'gaon Rav Moshe Feinstein. (For advanced students).

3. Access to Chazon Ish. (For advanced students).

4. Gra"z - Rav Shulchan Oruch vol 2
