Mrs. Schwartz opened her wallet and looked inside. “Oh, dear,” she said, holding her money. “I have only fifteen dollars.”

Mr. Goldstein didn’t mind. “Don’t worry,” he said. “you can pay the rest the next time you come.”

But Mrs.Schwartz looked worried. “No,” she replied softly, shaking her head. “I don’t want to owe anyone money. Chana, dear, please. Put back the candy.”
