PARSHAS NITZOVIM

Ch. 29, v. 9: "Kulchem lifnei Hashem Elokeichem" - Every bit of you should stand in front of Hashem. Total commitment to all the mitzvos is required. (Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh of Radzimin in Bikurei Oviv)

Ch. 29, v. 9: "Shivteichem zikneichem" - Your staff that prods you to improve, "sheivet," is your aging, "zikneichem." (Rabbi Yehoshua of Ostrova in Divrei Vinoh, also see preface of Rabbeinu Yonah to Shaa'rei Teshuvoh)

Ch. 29, v. 9: "Kol ish Yisroel" - When you are standing in judgment in front of Hashem ("ha'yom" refers to R.H.), then even your heads and leaders cannot pull rank. They are the same as "kol ish Yisroel." (Rabbi Shmuel of Slonim in Divrei Shmuel)

Ch. 29, v. 13: "V'lo itchem l'vadchem onochi koreis es habris" - I only make this covenant if you are not alone, each person for himself. (Rabbi Yisochor Dov of Dolina in Likutei Toras Rabbeinu Yisochor)

Ch. 29, v. 17: "Asher l'vovo foneh ha'yom mei'im Hashem" - Even if he only takes a slight turn away from the proper path, this can bring to ch"v forsaking Hashem. (Rabbi Avrohom of Slonim in Beis Avrohom)

Ch. 31, v. 1: "Va'yeilech Moshe va'y'da'beir es hadvorim ho'ei'leh el kol Yisroel" - Even after Moshe has passed on, he continues to give his words of guidance to the bnei Yisroel through the written word of the Torah. (Tiferres Shlomo of Radomsk)
