The libations done on Shabbos were the same as during the week except the utensil was filled before Shabbos. It was made of gold but was not kodesh and was left in a room.

If the water spilled or was left uncovered, they filled it with water from the kiyor. The rule is that wine or water that were left uncovered are posul for the mizbaiach.

During the mitzvah of libations there was a mitzvah to have music especially the chalil, flute. This was not done on Shabbos or Yom Tov. Whoever did not see the happiness of the water libations never saw happiness in his life.
