Succa 5:8
If there was a day between Shabbos and Yom Tov, the incoming mishmar took 10
loafs and the outgoing mishmar got 2 loafs. During the year they divided them
equally between the exiting mishmar and the entering one when they changed the
mishmar on Shabbos. R’ Yehuda says the new mishmar got 7 loafs and the exiting
mishmar got 5.
The new mishmar would take their loaves and divide it amongst themselves in
the north of the azara and the exiting mishmar would do the same in the south of
the azara.
The mishmar of Bilga [who were considered rishaim] always divided their
loaves in the south. The ring of shechita for their mishmar was kept closed and
the window for their clothes was kept closed.
Beitzah 1:1
Bais Shammai says an egg that was laid on Yom Tov can be eaten. Bais Hillel
says you cannot eat it. This is a gezeirah [rabbinicaly decree] as you might
come to squeeze liquid from fruit.
Bais Shammai says the size of sourdough that you are not allowed to have in
your house on Pesach is the size of an olive, for regular chametz the size is
that of a date. Bais Hillel say that for both prohibitions we use the size of an
olive.
