Beitzah 4:4
You cannot make a candle holder from molding clay on Yom Tov.
You cannot make charcoal on Yom Tov. You cannot split a wick to make two, on
Yom Tov because you would be making a utensil.
Reb Yehuda says you can split a wick with fire when you want both to be lit
at the same time. This refers to a case where you put a wick in two cups and you
light it in order to light both cups.
Beitzah 4:5
You cannot break an earthenware utensil or cut a piece of paper to roast a
salted fish. You cannot clean an oven from ashes but, you can pat down the
ashes.
You cannot put two barrels together and a pot across the top as it looks like
building. Similarly, you cannot hold up a pot with a piece of wood.
You are not allowed to lead an animal with a stick on Yom Tov (by hitting
it).
R’ Elazer birebbe Shimon permits this.
