Beitzah 5:5

A coal has the techum of its owner, however a flame has nobody’s techum.

Similarly, if you steal a coal that belongs to kodesh, it has the prohibition of meilah. Taking a flame that belongs to kodesh is not permitted, however, there is no prohibition of meilah.

If you take out a coal from a private domain to a public domain it is a biblical prohibition, however a flame has no biblical prohibition.

If you take water on Yom Tov from a well, the water has the techum of the owner of the water. If the water is in a public pit belonging to a city, the water has the techum of that city.

The water holes that were set up for the people of Babel when they came up to Yerushalayim, belonged to no one and if you took some water, it uses your techum.

Beitzah 5:6

If you had fruit in another city which is out of your techum, it cannot be brought to you.
