Shikalim 7:7
[This is a continuation of the previous mishna.]
The left over salt and wood that was kodesh can be used by the cohanim.
If you have benefit from the ashes of the red cow, you do not have the
prohibition of meilah.
If someone gave money for his bird sacrifices, the public would cover the fee
for his sacrifices if they became posul. R’ Yosee says that the supplier of
the birds would pay for it.
Shikalim 8:1
Chazal said that if you find spit, we say it might come from a zav and is
tamai.
Spit that was found in Yerushalayim is not tamai as chazal say people there
were careful. This was true except in the upper market were it was common to
have non-Jews who are tamai like a zav. R’ Yosee says even in Yerushalayim in
middle of the street spit is tamai, but on the side of the street it is tahor
during the whole year. On Yom tov spit in the middle of the road is tahor and on
the side it is tamai.
