Rosh Hashana 2:3
They made these waving fires with long cedar poles, reeds, shemen wood and
pieces of flax tied together with string. They then go to the top of a mountain
and lights the pole up. They wave the fire up and down, back and forth until the
next mountain sees and responds the same way.
Rosh Hashana 2:4
They started lighting on Mt. Sartiva, then Girofena, then Chavran, then Bais
Builtin and from there they kept waving until the whole Diaspora saw.
