Taanis 4:7

During the week in which Tisha Bav falls, it is prohibited to cut your hair or wash clothes. On Thursday it is permitted out of respect for Shabbos.

The meal before the fast you cannot eat two dishes, you should not eat meat, or drink wine. R’ Shimon ben Gamlial says it should just be less then a normal meal. R’ Yehuda says you must turn over your beds and the chachamim did not agree.

R’ Shimon ben Gamlial said there were no holidays for the Jews like the 15th day of Av and Yom Kippur. These days the Jewish girls would go out with white borrowed garments, not to embarrass the ones that did not have, all the clothes would be made tahor. The girls of Yerushalayim would go out and dance in the vineyards. There were 3 types of girls:
